Sumbawa is an island in the center of the Sunda archipelago, and on this island one of the two main species of Agarwood trees, the Gyrinops verstegii species of Agarwood trees grows, which have a completely unique profile. The profiles of Gyrinops verstegii species Agarwood trees do not contain the sweet, resinous profiles that the Aquilaria family contains and as mentioned, they have their own profiles.
Our Sumbawa Black oud oil is obtained by steam distillation method from wild Gyrinops verstegii species agarwood trees on the island of Sumbawa.
Sumbawa black has a distinctive and contrasting profile compared to other ouds. The opening has an intense scent of leather, but it is more in the polish line than in the leather itself. This opening is persistent and as it fades, a kind of smoky sweetness reminiscent of guiac wood becomes more pronounced. This oil has a stern dry, masculine stance and does not have the floral notes or opium and honey-like sweetness often associated with oud.
Gyrinops verstegii ouds have a very interesting way of integrating with your natural body odor after a while and becoming your own signature scent.
Definitely recommended for fragrance lovers who are looking for a signature scent and want to experience different oud profiles.
